How to reach Playa PortoMari

From Willemstad, take the main Westpoint road. After approximately 7 km, turn left at the PortoMari billboard to Willibrordus. Continue along this road for 5 km until you come to a large church. Follow the signs to Plantages "PortoMari"

Playa PortoMari Beach Bar and Restaurant

Playa PortoMari’s beachside restaurant and bar provide a variety of delicious meals and tropical drinks. The restaurant is famous for its grilled chicken satehs, nasi and bami - dishes originating from the Indonesian cuisine. But veggie lovers too can enjoy a fresh crisp green salad with an excellent vinaigrette dressing. And of course ….. crunchy French fries are also on the menu, with or without Dutch ‘bitterballen’ and ‘kroketten’! Come and enjoy all of this on our attractive seaside terrace, overlooking the white sandy beach and turquoise ocean.

The Beach Bar and Restaurant is open every day from 9.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Closed on 31 December and Carnival Sunday.

PortoMari Sports

With your feet in the sand learning the theory behind your first diving lesson, together with your buddy planning a multi-level dive, or participating in a night dive....you can do it all. Our diving school is built on the beach nearby one of the most beautiful underwaterspots of Curaçao. It's ideal for beginners and advanced because of the unique double reef. The reef starts at a depth of six meters but also has the opportunity to do deep dives. With the average water temperature of 28 degrees, splendid views, no current, beautiful coral and lots of fish, you can be sure to have a great dive. Plantages "PortoMari" has several hiking trails that provide hours of exploring pleasure.

The Seru Mateo Trail and the Historical and Bird Watching Trail both start at Playa PortoMari — you can leave your car at the parking lot. Most of the trails are also suitable for mountain bikes, but make sure you have a few essential spare parts because it can be a long walk back if you get a flat tire!

Snorkel Gear Rental and Scuba Diving Information

Buying snorkel gear for one week’s vacation can be expensive. Did you know that you can rent snorkel masks and fins at Playa PortoMari? Take time out to explore our two snorkel trails and wonder at PortoMari’s colourful underwater world. Maps of the snorkel trails are posted at the Bar and Reefball Snorkel Trail
